As the article notes in the attached explanations, the Index was based on the candidates' self-reporting to a survey, and Giuliani and Kuchinich identified themselves as Catholics. If there is perhaps another standard of judgment the editors of America should use for what makes someone Catholic, we are, as another Presidential candidate once noted, all ears.

Rudy Giuliani and Dennis Kuchinich Catholic? Perhaps the editors of America could enlighten its readers by explaining why they believe these presidential candidates should be identified as Catholic.
