NCR: Cardinal sees 'no theological obstacle' to women priests

John Allen reports over at National Catholic Reporter that a Portuguese Cardinal purportedly stated that he sees "no fundamental theological obstacle” to the ordination of women in the Catholic Church.

Cardinal José da Cruz Policarpo told a legal publication that tradition may preclude such action, but says that women's ordination may happen "when God wants it," though he concedes that this will probably not occur in his lifetime.
