Lowell McAdam

Lowell McAdam, who holds an MBA from the School of Business Administration at the University of San Diego [3], is the president and CEO of Verizon Wireless, where he began as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2000. McAdam [4], who spent six years in the U.S. Navy’s Engineer Corps, was also head of the CTIA [5], the wireless industry trade association, in 2008. Before joining Verizon, McAdam was a vice president at Air Touch Communication, where he oversaw wireless ventures in Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, Korea, and Japan. Last June 2008, McAdam oversaw Verizon’s buyout [6] of rival Alltel in a deal valued at over $28 billion.
