Pope Francis' Asia Trip in Photos

In his second trip to Asia, Pope Francis is traveling to Sri Lanka and the Philippines from Jan. 14 to 19. In a gathering with Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist leaders, the pope called for reconciliation in Sri Lanka, a small island nation still healing from over 30 years of civil strife. He also canonized Sri Lanka's first saint, Joseph Vaz, a 17th century missionary priest. 

Upon his arrival in the Philippines, millions turned out to welcome "The Pope for the Poor." In an address at the presidential place, Francis told state and religious leaders “reforming the social structures which perpetuate poverty and the exclusion of the poor first requires a conversion of heart and mind.” Check out some photos of these events and other highlights from the papal visit.
