While you can't judge a blog by its comments alone, I would warn anyone visiting that link that the comment boxes (especially for the post about Europe's largest mosque) contain the most unchristian messages, like advocating ethnic cleansing (no joke, it's sad and disturbing). Please, Fr. Martin, do a little checking next time. I used to admire those who fought for the old Mass, but time and time again, I found myself standing shoulder to shoulder with people who held the ugliest and most misanthropic opinions imaginable. Now, after first celebrating Benedict's Motu Proprio on the old Mass, I'm thinking it's a mistake. I've made an almost complete 180 degree turn on the issue, and it's expressions like the ones in the Orbis Catholicus comment boxes that changed my view.

When do we get to see Fr. Martin process into St. Ignatius church NY and celebrate a Tridentine Mass? (Btw: the high altar has recently been cleaned and ready to go!)

I've still yet to attend an Extraordinary Form Mass, which is silly because 10 minutes from my home is the first parish designated entirely for that purpose, Mater Ecclesia in Berlin, NJ. Anyway, I'm thinking that I will go there for Midnight Mass this Christmas. I'm very much looking forward to it! Beautiful picture, Father! I understand what the one commenter is saying about the EF zealots. Sometimes I have some trouble with them, too. But at the same time, I think over the next several decades the Motu Proprio from the Holy Father can begin to have the effect intended, which is to restore a greater sense of reverence and the sacred to the Ordinary Form of the Mass, the Novus Ordo. Sadly, too often reverence for the Mass is just missing completely, and something needs to change. Who knows if this is the answer or not, but I think it was worth it, and as Pope Benedict said, if there is a spiritual desire for the EF, and since Vatican II never invalidated it in any way, we should make it available for those who desire it. I'm studying Latin now, and I do hope that if and when I am ordained (someday!) I will be able to celebrate the Mass in both forms.
