James Martin, S.J.February 19, 2010

I mentioned below the wonderful news of the first canonization of a member of the storied Congregation of the Holy Cross, Andre Bessette, but Pope Benedict XVI also formally announced the upcoming canonizations, on October 17, of the amazing Mother Mary McKillop, about whom I wrote a few months back here, as well as Fr. Stanislaw Soltys of Poland, Sr. Candida Maria de Jesus Cipitria y Barriola of Spain, and Srs. Giulia Salzano and Battista Varano of Italy.  Here is a cool Vatican video of the announcement.
