Yeah, I know there are already so many blogs you feel like you have to read--In All Things and The Good Word of course; as well as Dotcommonweal, Whispers in the Loggia, Clerical Whispers, First Things, the Deacon's Bench, The Anchoress and on and on--but here's a new one to add to your list.  It's called "Whosoeverdesires."  Jesuit fans will recognize this as the first words from one of the founding documents of the Society of Jesus, the "Formula of the Institute."  Viz: "Whosoever desires to serve as a soldier of God beneath the banner of the cross in our Society, which we desire to be designated by the name of Jesus, and to serve the Lord alone and the Church his Spouse, under the Roman pontiff, the vicar of Christ on earth, should, after a vow of perpetual chastity, poverty, and obedience, keep the following in mind."  Anyway, it's a zippy new blog run by seven talented and articulate young Jesuits: Nathan O'Halloran, SJ; Michael Magree, SJ; Jeff Johnson, SJ; Brian Reedy, SJ; John Brown, SJ; Aaron Pidel, SJ; and Vincent L. Strand, SJ.  (I note for the record that my friend Michael Magree is actually listed as "Michae!" which is a great nom de blogue.)  So far the blog has tackled topics like Pope Benedict XVI's new encyclical Caritas in Veritate, baseball, Teilhard, "Nurse Jackie," the common good, Darwin and Solzhenitsyn.  A very catholic and Catholic roundup of topics that bodes well for whosoever desires to follow this blog.  Start reading it here.

Jim, Thanks for the plug. Magree wanted to go by that name (Michae!) alone, a la Cher, but we convinced him to keep his last name. Thanks again. Jeff

I'll check it out and add it to my google reader. I'm really looking for some good blogs to spend my extra time reading, rather than wasting it reading drivel.
Are those Chrsitian Brother's Skateboarding? I've never seen Jesuits dressed like that. I went to a high school taught by the Chrisitan Brothers and so I'm familiar with that look.

Maria,
I believe they are Anglican priests. Here are some Catholic priests of the same vintage, http://www.adverbox.com/stella-artois-skating-priests/.
Thanks for checking us out.

Enforcement tactics do not in the end deter asylum seekers, who are typically fleeing life-threatening circumstances, but stricter enforcement does push border crossers to more dangerous paths.

In “a note of accompaniment” to the final document, the pope made clear that Catholic bishops throughout the world are to lead their churches in building a synodal and missionary church in the 21st century.

Sam Sawyer, S.J., editor-in-chief of America Media, returns to “Preach” to discuss his Advent homily series, designed to be more cohesive than the usual week-to-week, stand-alone Sunday homilies that preachers typically prepare.

Experienced foster parents often say two things: Foster care reveals things that are true of every parenting relationship. And fostering is intensely, inherently pro-life work that should be much more vigorously supported and promoted by the Catholic Church.
