Our blogger and frequent contributor to the mag, Tom Beaudoin, along with his "band mates" Brian Robinette and Michael Iafrate, have created a new blog--sponsored by Liturgical Press--which will explore the connections between rock and theology.  It's called, um, Rock and Theology.  Tom's an astute critic of pop culture and a talented theologian, who teaches at Fordham.  His book Virtual Faith was one of the first, and still the best, attempts to look at the changing sense of spirituality among young Christians.  Here's Tom: "We hope the blog will be a place to ask how faith and culture constellate, how contemporary social embodiment comes to be spiritual-religious, by cycling through the cultures of rock and theology. To discover new pleasures in theology and secular music, however difficult the lessons of those pleasures for what we thought theology and rock had to be.  And to test, as a blog, the virtues of the ephemeral for all of us who live engulfed by the worldly and the spiritual."   And here's his blog.

Michael Iafrate does some wonderful things with faith and music - I first recall stumbling upon him when I was in search of music I had heard at Mass, and then meandering through his covers and his original music that was made with an honest and Catholic heart.  Thank you for posting this link - it seems now I have yet another bookmark.
