The annual Catholic Media Convention took place June 21-25 in Pittsburgh, PA. The convention is a great chance for members of the Catholic press to meet and to exchange ideas. It concludes with the presentation of the Catholic Press Awards, and I'm pleased to announce that this year America received the following honors:

Best Blog: Second place, “In All Things”
Best In-Depth News/Special Reporting (magazine): Third place, “Catholics as Citizens” by M. Cathleen Kaveny
Best Editorial (magazine): Second place, The Millstone
Best Original Poetry: Third place, “Seeds,” by Courtney Kampa
