Lowell McAdam, who holds an MBA from the School of Business Administration at the University of San Diego, is the president and CEO of Verizon Wireless, where he began as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2000. McAdam, who spent six years in the U.S. Navy’s Engineer Corps, was also head of the CTIA, the wireless industry trade association, in 2008. Before joining Verizon, McAdam was a vice president at Air Touch Communication, where he oversaw wireless ventures in Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, Korea, and Japan. Last June 2008, McAdam oversaw Verizon’s buyout of rival Alltel in a deal valued at over $28 billion.
