Yesterday we at America began working on "putting to bed" the 5,000th issue of the magazine. We celebrated that milestone in suitably modest style: pizza in the editorial office. The editors and staff thank God our Lord for being able to serve God's people since the magazine's founding in 1909.  (You'll receive the 5,000th issue quite soon.)  Here's a video from our centennial in 2009, and you'll see a lot of familiar faces and hear some familiar voices, including three editors in chief: Thomas J. Reese, SJ; Drew Christiansen, SJ; and our new editor, Matt Malone, SJ. AMDG!
