The Eucharist is the final word and action of Jesus before he enters into his Passion. This set of just a few words and visible actions frames the meaning and intent of the great sign that is his whole life, culminating in his dying and rising. It is more than this, though.

The conversations of the synod are for the sake of building up an ethos, the conversatio of communion and confidence in the accessibility of Christ as He manifests himself in the church.

The recovery will be lengthy, and while we desperately need immediate relief, we must also seek long-term systemic change.

We as a country cannot simply say, “the government made the decision,” so it must be just. King Herod made a decision, too.
