This week on "Inside the Vatican," we cover the ecumenical retreat the Vatican is hosting for South Sudanese leaders.

“Walk together, work together, love each other.” That is how Pope Francis described the journey of building Christian unity in the 21st century. Michael Rudzena is walking that path as part of the John 17 Movement, an ecumenical group dedicated to responding to the prayer of Jesus that “all who believe in me be one.”

“It’s a pretty common belief here in the South that Catholics are not Christian.”

That many religions exist in the world is a fact, but what that plurality communicates to believers about God is a question that theologians are still discussing.

“I was surprised that they even listened to me,” said Rev. Martina Viktorie Kopecká. “I am quite young and a woman. I wore a white stole. They are not pushing me away.”

“We live in a world of competition, where you have to be the best. This pressure comes even from the families, from society,” said Brother Alois Löser.
