In an interview with the Vatican’s media outlets, the pope focused on the theme of “paternity” and how St. Joseph is an important example for fathers, the church and families.

While the pope’s collection is mostly made up of classical music, it also includes a 25-disc collection of Elvis Presley’s Gospel songs.

Catholics uncomfortable with a synodal model of the church, Cardinal Tobin said, may be put off by the messiness dialogue often unearths. But, he said, refusing to live with tension can be a form of heresy.

“It is good to think about the fact that Jesus himself worked and had learned this craft from St. Joseph,” Pope Francis said in his Wednesday audience. “Today, we should ask ourselves what we can do to recover the value of work.”
