Several questions at the synod briefing Oct. 15 regarded the presence of women and their lack of a vote.

The church must go out and encounter young people “in detention centers, at the borders.”

Last week, a group of protestors, mostly women, gathered to call for women to be allowed to vote in the Synod on Youth, Young People and Vocational Discernment—a right that, some experts say, there is no canonical reason to deny.

According to cardinals from India, Canada, and Madagascar, one thing is clear, "the church has a great future with these young people."

Young adults are ready and willing to take on responsibility for and within the church. And many already have.

A Catholic women's leadership organization, the GIVEN Institute, which aims to encourage and train young women in leadership roles in the church and society, officially launched Sept. 12.
