Last year I posted on the readings for The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, which caused a stir I did not expect when I argued that the biblical readings alone do not lead necessarily to the Church's teaching on the Immaculate Conception of Mary, but that Tradition is essential for this understanding. The original post and the comments are available by clicking on the link above. More recently, David Mills at First Things has attempted to defend and explain the Church's teaching to those, particularly it seems, in the Evangelical world who would argue that the teaching of the Church is not biblical in his post Delivered From All Stain.
A Happy Feast Day to all!
