i wore my glasses today
for the first time
since the last time i saw you
i had asked you to put them in the glove compartment of my car
so they wouldn’t get crushed
i guess i should have asked you to put
my heart there too
i put them on
and my vision cleared
i saw the specks on my mirror
and the fuzzies on my shirt
and i saw that you were moving on
and realized maybe it was time that i did
too

i wore my glasses today/ for the first time/since the last time i saw you
