Tim Reidy, America’s deputy editor in chief, and I are very grateful to have had the chance to speak about our vision for America Media at our Town Hall on Feb. 15. As the 15th editor in chief, I was especially pleased to be able to answer some of your thoughtful questions and share a bit about my own approach to America’s media ministry.
For those of you who missed it, you can watch a recording of the Town Hall above. I am also pleased to share the links for some of America Media’s projects that we discussed last night, including:
- People Of God, our documentary that highlights parish life in various regions across the country
- Our recent exclusive interview with Pope Francis (and my own reflection on meeting the Holy Father)
- Jesuitical, our podcast for young Catholics
- Inside the Vatican, our podcast that goes behind the headlines, and
- The Gloria Purvis Podcast, focusing on opinions, stories, and experiences of individuals who have been marginalized in the Church and in society.
I hope last night’s session was the first in a series of conversations we are able to have together about the issues that are most important to us Catholics as we look to come ever closer to our loving God. In the meantime, please know how grateful I am for your support—as readers and listeners, subscribers, and donors—that makes America’s important work possible.
With gratitude and prayers,
Sam Sawyer, S.J.
